C.A.M.P.U.S. was a small local church hosted from 2006 – 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. There, self-taught bible scholar Shawn McCraney deconstructed the meaning and intent of the Bible verse by verse. C.A.M.P.U.S. was solely devoted to pursuing knowledge of the Word, foregoing any law or mechanisms of religious demand. 

THE C.A.M.P.U.S. TEACHINGS

The Verse-by-Verse study still continues under a new organization called Christian Ultra Libertarians for Truth. Each Sunday at 10AM MT, Christian Ultra Libertarians for Truth founder Shawn McCraney teaches through the Bible in a verse-by-verse fashion. He unpacks the linguistic, contextual, historical, and exegetical implications of each verse. Each week, the teaching is broadcasted LIVE on YouTube, and then goes into the archives. The Verse by Verse Archive is accessible to members of Christian Ultra Libertarians for Truth.

Verse by Verse Bible Teaching

The best way to learn scripture is teaching verse by verse in context.

Beginning in 2006 under a couple different names, CAMPUS Gatherings met on a weekly basis (Sundays) for one reason – to study the Word of God in a contextual, verse by verse, expository fashion. What made CAMPUS Gatherings unique are the following foundations:

  1. The pastor/teacher presents information with the understanding that he/she may be incorrect.
  2. As we maintain that the faith is entirely subjective all hearers are free to reject anything the pastor/teacher presents.
  3. Services include prayer, singing Bible verses set to music, sitting in silence, then a teaching from a verse by verse expository teaching of the Word followed by an open Question/Answer/Comment period by the hearers. We close with prayer.
  4. All versions of the Bible are welcome, all people, all views, all lifestyles, all the time.
  5. There are no memberships, no special causes, no collections (or tithes) taken and no professed authority of any kind by the pastor/teacher.
  6. All people are free to live their lives and spend their time and resources as they see fit.
  7. There are no official mid-week services or programs. The Christian life is to be lived in the world with all people.
  8. CAMPUS is an acronym for Christian Anarchists Meeting to Prayerfully Understand Scripture.
  9. Christian anarchy has no relation to secular anarchy. A Christian Anarchist merely affirms that Jesus Christ it their primary source of all things and no person or thing comes between the believer and Christ Jesus.
  10. CAMPUS Gathering are entirely a-political.
