Shawn McCraney spent forty years as a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life changed when he experienced what he describes as a spiritual rebirth, a personal awakening that led him to reexamine everything he believed about God, scripture, and religion. This began a very public, decades-long pursuit of Truth.

First examining LDS doctrine, then exploring Evangelical Christianity, Shawn eventually stepped away from both institutional systems in favor of a direct, non-institutional relationship with God. Since 2006 he has shared this journey openly through weekly verse-by-verse Bible teachings and Heart of the Matter, a weekly show where he discusses Mormonism, Christianity, fulfilled eschatology, and a personal walk with Yeshua free from authority claims, pressure, or religious control.

HOTM has continued through multiple series: HOTM, ReDux, Full Circle, Radicalized, EPIPHANY, and now Shawn the Baptist, all available on the Yeshuans web and mobile app alongside courses, books, programs, and discussion. Shawn, known publicly as Shawn the Baptist, has written more than fifty books on faith and theology, many of them relevant for LDS seekers.
