Understand that according to Shawn's teaching, individuals living a "lukewarm" existence do only what is expected of them without engaging in notable good or evil, and geographic orientation metaphorically reflects one's spiritual orientation—northward signifies being more guided by spiritual principles, while southward signifies self-guided actions; westward implies engaging in selfish and destructive behaviors, whereas eastward suggests acting out of selfless love and constructive deeds.
